Greetings from All In One Desktops
All In One Desktops hopes that everyone is safe this spring. The All In One Desktop team witnessed a tornado on April 28th. All is well and nothing was damaged but it was definitely a scary experience.

Rikki Winters has been working with Military Spouse Business Association or MSBA. The co-founders of MSBA has asked Congressman Carter to write a Military Spouse Residency Relief Act, H.R. 6070. This act would allow Military Spouses to declare a permanent state of residency. For those who are confused, here is a little history. Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief Act or SSCRA became law in 1942. This law gives servicemembers a little flexibility when it comes to civilian regulations. For example a servicemember signs a lease for an apartment for a year but 8 months into the lease he/she is being reassigned and needs to move. The servicemember is violating their year lease. The SSCRA allows them to terminate their lease early due to military orders without paying any fines. The SSCRA also allows servicemembers to declare a legal residency or home state no matter where the military moves them. Even though SSCRA is great for servicemembers there isn't anything in the Act that covers the military spouse. Every time that a military couple must move the military spouse must declare state of residency in the new state. This can cause problems with many things but especially effects one thing in particular, voting. Since military spouses move so often a majority of spouses end up not voting. The Military Spouse Residency Relief Act would eliminate many problems for the military spouse.
The Military Spouse Residency Relief Act, H.R. 6070, will be introduced on May 9th which is Military Spouse Appreciation Day. Keep an open eye and ear for the announcement.

Local News
On April 28th at 3:53pm a destructive tornado touched down in the Hampton Roads area. At 4:44pm the same cell that produced a destructive tornado in Suffolk, VA touched down in Norfolk, VA. Approximately 50 cars received damage in the form of broken windows and some of the roofs were damaged. The damage in Norfolk was not anything compared to the damage in Suffolk. The damage in Suffolk is estimated at $28.6 million where 46 homes and businesses were destroyed. Amazingly with all this damage the residents that were effected by the tornado don't qualify for Federal Disaster Assistance because a majority of the homes and businesses had insurance. If you would like to donate to help the Suffolk residents please donate to one of the organizations mentioned in this article.
Here is a picture of the tornado approaching Norfolk.
