For those of you unfamiliar with what an all-in-one desktop computer is, it’s just an LCD monitor with the rest of the computer built in behind it. This is the entire computer right here, mouse, keyboard and that’s it. There are no cables running underneath to a desktop console, tower or anything like that. It is a lot easier to set up and use and takes up a lot less space.
Today we are reviewing the H400S by Hasee Computers. This is the 17 inch widescreen model. I have installed Windows Vista on it but you can also have XP Pro or XP Home if you desire. This has Intel Dual Core Processors, 1 gig of RAM and a 100 gig hard drive.
Performance wise this computer does pretty well. It scores lowest in video gaming and graphics. If you are going to buy someone a heavy duty gaming console, you are going to want to buy a regular desktop and get them a custom graphics card. These all in one computers come with a generic Intel graphics card, which will work fine for any applications, video or photo editing but it’s not really meant as a gaming machine. Besides that it scores well for processor a 4.6, memory 4.4 and primary hard disk data transfer rate of 4.5.
I will let you look and hear for yourself [plays short video clip]. [Just before the video clip starts] It has two built in speakers [points to them] at the base of the monitor. It is a little bright in hear my apologies. [Lets rest of video play.] As you can see it looks and sounds great!
It also comes in a 15.4 inch model. I am going to use this to demo the rest of the computer. As you can see it has a 2 point pivot base which is really convenient. [Folds base to show you.] You can actually fold it right up and this would actually fit in a laptop case. Very compact! It is our smallest and lightest. This one weighs just under 13 pounds.
[Unfolds the base to show you rest of the computer.] For the ports, right on the side here, see you have a 4 in 1 memory card reader. It takes SD, MMC, MS and Pro cards right out of your digital camera. It is kind of nice and convenient to be able to plug it right into the computer and download pictures. It has 4 USB ports and an audio in, audio out and microphone. On the bottom you have two more USB ports, Ethernet port, 2 PS2 for your keyboard and mouse, video out, and your power.
This is so small and convenient that I actually got one of these for our kitchen and we keep our recipes, video, and music files on it so we have something to do while we are in the kitchen.
It also comes with a slim keyboard. Very slim! It is a full keyboard. It has everything except the hot buttons you see on a lot of keyboards. If you like a lot of quick short cut buttons this does not come with any. But for a slim keyboard this is very small and helps keep the form factor down.
The optical mouse is a typical mouse with a scroll wheel.
The computer itself has a nice sleep option. You can actually turn off your monitor with one touch of a button.
Of course it comes with a DVD rewritable drive on the side. [Opens DVD drive to show you where it is located.]
Another nice option with this computer, instead of going to the start menu you can shut down with a single press of the power button. It automatically logs you off and shuts down, which is pretty convenient.
Also for the power adapter we are really impressed with the size and low power usage. If you are looking to go green and reduce your carbon footprint; this is a 65 Watt adapter so this computer at its peak only uses 65 Watts of energy. There is no desktop that I have been able to find that uses anything close to that and the majority of notebooks or laptops use more power than this. 65 Watts is a big achievement, I am definitely impressed to be able to get the power usage so low.
Besides that, really impressed overall with the computer. Allinondesktops.com gives this computer 4 out of 5 stars. It would have been 5 out of 5 if they had a little more power and performance graphics wise. I am Hoping that will come in future models as they continue to miniaturize all the components.
